Old Prime Computers ad with classic Doctor Who Tom Baker and Lalla Ward (Romana)

1966 Dr Who movie Daleks Invasion Earth 2150. Looks much more exciting than it actually was. Poster from Starburst Magazine 1978-1980

Another brilliant 1960’s Dalek comic strip from TV Century 21 magazine. Note the Dalek flying saucer, no doubt influenced by George Adamski’s infamous flying saucer photos of the 1950’s. Nice to know the basic Dalek saucer design has been retained by the producers of the current Dr Who series.

I never knew there was a Jon Pertwee-era Doctor Who comic strip. I discovered it recently when I picked up a second hand copy of Doctor Who Classic Comics (a UK Marvel reprint series from 1992). The strip originally appeared in the UK magazine TV Action in 1971.

In the 1960s at the height of ‘Dalek mania’ the Dalek comic strip appeared in the weekly magazine TV Century 21 which was produced mainly to promote the shows of Gerry Anderson (Thunderbirds, Fireball XL5, Stingray etc)

From 1977 until the mid 1980s I collected just about every newspaper and magazine article related to science fiction movies and TV I could lay my hands on. These are the ‘Family Collection’ centre spreads from TV Guide (Australia), 1980

In the late 1970s and early 1980’s I drew pictures for a Doctor Who fanzine produced by a group of friends but most of my drawings were never used. Damn it, I slaved over those drawings.
